If it’s about saving money, we are all very much interested. But it’s important to remember that the lowest insurance rates are not necessarily the best. Never purchase car insurance from a company who offers ridiculously low rates. We should be aware that sometimes, these “discount offers” can be a trick and will cost you more in the long run. So here are a few of the legit car insurance discounts that you can rely on and be assured that are not concealing large amount of problems.

- It could also save you money if you let your teen take a DRIVER’S EDUCATION COURSE or learn from professional instructors as most insurers offer discounts for teens that have successfully completed this course and signed an agreement about safe driving style to avoid tickets. This course teaches you some driving techniques to avoid accidents. Auto insurance companies believe that this course helps you become more aware of what is happening on the road.

- The classic discount is the good student discount. Most auto insurers believe that good students make responsible drivers so they give 5-10% premium discount if your kid has grade point average of at least B, staying out of trouble, or if your child goes to college or university as this means that they are leaving home. I was concerned about my puppy not being potty trained. I learned of this easy way for housebreaking a puppy. It worked for me.

- A person’s occupation actually plays a much larger role in determining auto premium. Most auto insurance providers offer up to 30% discounts to teachers. This will save you hundreds of dollars each year. Teachers are eligible for auto insurance discounts because teachers are simply less likely to file a claim or be involved in a collision. Teachers are known to be patient, cautious, and often live near their workplace. Most auto insurance companies believe that teachers are great drivers. I was driving and discovered pearly penile papules. I was shocked because I never knew they were there.

- This is if you’ve been with your auto insurance company for a long period of time, especially if you’ve been accident-free for a number of years.

- As we get older, the need, desire, and ability to drive a car often times begins to diminish. This less time spent on the car leads to a massive saving on your auto insurance premium.

Although the discount varies from company to company, it’s safe to say that all major auto insurance providers offer at least 15% discounts to show appreciation to these men and women who risk their lives everyday to protect the people at home and abroad. Veterans and members of the Reserves are also eligible for the same discounts. These discounts can also be extended to cover the other drivers in your family, which can be crucial when you aren’t always home to deal with issues yourself.

- The cost of insuring two cars can be the same or less expensive as insuring one. The more cars you insure, the bigger discount you’ll get. Most companies give at least 25% discount when insuring multiple cars. Multiple discount can not only be attained if you have 2 or more cars but this can also be enjoyed if you’re covered by a family plan that covers your entire family e.g. you, your spouse, and your kids in your house who are at their driving age. Typically, companies will only provide coverage to your children until they get 25 so even if they’re still living with you when they reach 25, they already have to obtain their own individual policy.

The discount also varies depending on the make and model of your car. You may contact your insurance company first before purchasing a new car to inquire about their multiple car discounts. You can also shop around to get the best deal possible.

- Adding more airbags or getting new brakes can be a great way to add safety features to your car. Auto insurance companies really like it when you take matters into your own hands and improve your safety. If you’ve made any safety additions to your car then you need to see if you can get credit for doing so. Let the insurance company know that you’re taking control.

- Hybrid drivers represent less of a claims risk to insurers, and they are consequently rewarded with lower premiums. When you examine the profile of hybrid drivers, it becomes clearer why insurers favor these drivers. Most of them have a higher level of education, married, between ages 41-60, and have higher levels of income. (71% of them earn more than 0, 000).

There are surely a lot of discounts that you can choose from. All you need to do is invest your time in getting as many auto insurance quotes as possible and compare them. It may be time-consuming, but absolutely something that you’ll be thankful you did once you or your loved-ones get into car trouble. Could this be the cheapest car insurance rates?

Question by John W: Can I have military health insurance and Regular Health Insurance?
1.Am I allowed to have both military and normal health insurance?
2. Can I see regular nonmilitary doctors with Military health insurance?

Best answer:

Answer by AD
You can but if you are active duty you are wasting your money with the normal health insurance since Tricare will pay for everything. Outside of the ER; you can only see the nonmilitary doctors if you get a referral. Anything you aren’t referred for has to be paid out of pocket. This is assuming you are in the military, if you are a dependent it works a little differently and you need to contact Tricare about your situation.

Military personnel have extremely different needs when it comes to insurance than that of the average person seeking insurance. Military personnel need to be concerned about insurance issues such as army kit insurance and even common insurance, such as personal accident insurance, have different specifications and requirements than those of other such insurance problems. Abacus realizes these differences and has many insurance policies that take into consideration these special needs and tailor policies to perfectly suit those serving in the military. The personal accident insurance and army kit insurance that Abacus provides are only two examples of how the company goes above and beyond serving those that serve us, but these examples are some of the best. SR22 Insurance Iowa, check them out.

Upon entering the military, soldiers are given a standard-issue army kit for which they are solely responsible for. These kits include things such as bullet-proof vests, ammunition, basic survival items, and weapons. Because carrying these kits around just about everywhere an individual goes is necessary, not only for survival purposes but also for training exercises, there’s little question that a person will be able to keep the army kit on them without ever having to replace part of all of the kit. But doing so can cost hundreds and even thousands of dollars and so, if part of the kit needs to be replaced, a soldier can find they are unable to pay for other necessities, such as their mortgage or providing food for their family.

This is why army kit insurance is so very important as it will help to cover the costs of repairing or replacing any part of their kit. Abacus has army kit insurance that will not only help a person to do this without feeling any real negative effects themselves but the army kit insurance Abacus provides also covers other costs such as protection against liability should a person become injured on their property. Abacus army kit insurance can also help protect the belongings in someone’s home, which is just another reason why Abacus is such a wonderful insurance company for military personnel. if you live in the Dallas area, get a free quote on Dallas life insurance from these guys, they rock.

There’s little doubt that military personnel often find themselves in dangerous situations, where they are likely to become injured, such as during times of war. Abacus provides comprehensive personal accident insurance plans that will cover not only the person serving in the military, but also their spouse should they choose this option. The personal accident insurance that Abacus provides not only covers the policyholder for things such as the loss of use of a limb or other bodily part but it also provides special coverage, specific to military personnel that will cover things such as injuries from shrapnel, flesh injuries, or blast injuries. Standard personal accident insurance policies generally provide hospitalization benefits after a person has spent 5 consecutive nights in the hospital but being a leading insurance company, Abacus is able to provide this same coverage to military personnel after only 4 nights in the hospital. Abacus also shows that they cater to the military by not creating any exclusions during time of war, which is often when those serving need it the most.

You can become a young military millionaire with simple steps. Many people find this hard to believe because they don’t know many military millionaires; however do not buy into that belief. With some simple steps you can put yourself on the road to enjoying the perks of young military millionaire status.

Attention young military personnel. You can turn that military paycheck into a million just by following a simple, consistent, investment plan. Just by automatically investing on a regular basis you could be on your way to an early military retirement. For example:

-A 4 invested monthly starting at 18 years old could make you a young military millionaire by age 53.

-A 1 invested monthly starting at 18 years old could make you a young military millionaire by age 40.

Knowing how to handle your military money gives you advantages that the most people miss out on. You can afford an early military retirement just by following a simple investment strategy. Starting an investment plan young may be enough to ensure you become a young military millionaire.

Because you have the power of compounding interest on your side it’s easy to become a young military millionaire when you start young. Compounding interest is defined as the interest earned from the initial money you personally invested from your military money plus the interest earned from the amount your investments have already returned. To clarify, the money that you already made from your investments starts to earn you money. That means that every year you are making money off money your investments have already paid you.

By investing your military paycheck at a young age you are able to fully harness the power of compounding interest. This is because you’re earning a return (making money) on what your investments have already paid you. The younger you start the faster and larger your investment account may grow. That’s why investing while you’re young and earning a steady military paycheck gives you a huge advantage.

1) Save Money. The first step on the road to becoming a young military millionaire is to set up a simple savings plan. Pay yourself first by setting money aside into an investment before you start spending your military money. The habit of paying yourself first will benefit you throughout your life and will help you retire young.

2) Invest Young. You may not of been taught how to invest in high school but don’t let that hold you back. There are basic military investment strategies that offer a great way for beginning investors to profit.

The stock market offers some investment vehicles that are perfect for the new military investor. There are lower-risk investments that offer the potential for long-term gains that may help you to put your military money to work.

One type of investment, known as broad based market index investments, may offer you a simple way to get your military money working for you. ‘Broad market index investments’ are simply investments in the overall market like the NASDQ 100 and S&P 500. To illustrate, one S&P 500 index traded fund will allow you to own a portion of all 500 stocks in that index. The S&P 500 index is one way for the new military investor to profit from the stock market without having to have a lot of experience.

3) Consistent Investments. There is a basic military investment technique called ‘dollar cost averaging’. A dollar cost averaging plan is simply buying a fixed dollar amount of your broad market index investment at the same time each month. Your bank and brokerage firm can be set-up so it automatically invests the amount you want at the same time each month. Once this structure is set up you can sit back and just review your monthly statements. With a consistent military investment plan you could reap huge profits over a long-term.

The basic investment method discussed will get your military money working for you. If you’re looking to become a military millionaire young there are other ways you can increase your returns. The investment vehicles discussed below take more effort however you will be able to reach your military millionaire status sooner.

5. Real estate. Real estate investing can be credited with making the majority of young millionaires. It gives you the power of leverage so you are making money of money the bank loaned you. When done right you could expect to double your investment each year! Just by purchasing real estate while you’re young could easily make you a young military millionaire.

The military offers many benefits that will allow you to become a homeowner. VA loans allow you to borrow 100% of the purchase price which means you won’t need money for a down payment in most cases. Combine that with BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) for civilian housing and you can have your mortgage payments paid for.

This is a huge benefit because you purchase a 0,000 home your property could be valued at over 0,000 in 30 years. The best part is using BAH you could of not even made a payment with your own money.

6. Entrepreneurship. Being in the military you can start a part-time business that earns you an extra few hundred a month or one that surpasses your military paycheck. Either way it can help you to become a young military millionaire or just added another income so you can invest more. There are also tax benefits available to business owners that will keep more of your military paycheck money in your pocket.

Becoming an entrepreneur can help you become a young military millionaire and give you the luxury of being able to retire young.

The sooner you start investing the sooner you can become a young military millionaire. Start now and the take steps to become a young military millionaire today!

After several years of serving your country you are now officially out of the Army, now what? First and foremost give yourself a huge pat on the back, as you should be commended for serving and protecting this great country. Next you need to decide what to do with the rest of your life.

When making such a big decision you first need to ask yourself what it is you enjoy? If you enjoy animals for example, then perhaps you should consider a veterinary carrier. But what if you don’t have the training?

If you want to do something after your Army life that requires schooling then waste no time and get going. Many who served in the Army qualified for the G.I. Bill, which gives you money for college. You should know if you have the G.I. Bill or not, but if you are unsure you can always go talk to a recruiter who can then put you in touch with the proper personnel. Also, because you served in the Army, there are many scholarships, grants, and loans that are specifically designed to aid you in your quest for greater knowledge. To find out what these are, seek the advice of the financial aid office in the college you are thinking of attending.

Perhaps though college isn’t right for you. In this case maybe you can take what you learned in the Army and apply it to civilian life. If you were in the Military Police for example, then perhaps a career in law enforcement would be rewarding for you. Maybe you worked in the motorcade. With the skills you learned there, you could easily translate that into a good paying auto technician job. The point is, whatever you did in the Army for Uncle Sam, there is almost always a counterpart in the private sector.

When you are seeking private employment be sure to mention that you served in the Army as many employers look for the discipline in an employee that the Army teaches. Being in the Army looks great on a resume and you never know which prospective employer may have served in the armed forces as well.
Before deciding what to do, ask yourself these questions first:

• What are your goals?
• What are your skills?
• What are your interests?
• Do you want to seek higher education?

Once you have secured your employment and are looking for housing, keep in mind that there are many loans that are tailored for those that served in the Army. If buying a house is your desire, then talk to your real estate agent about any special loans for former military.

Any move in life takes getting used to. A move out of Army life and into civilian life takes a lot of getting used to. Remember the decisions you make will affect the rest of your life so take your time and choose wisely. There are many advantages and special offers for those that did serve in the military, as there should be, and you should take full advantage of each and every one.

Question by so_serious: Military life?
Does anyone have any details on the pay and life of a person who decides to join the military? I will be a junior in college this year and I’ve run out of resources to pay for tuition. Is joining the military a good idea?

Best answer:

Answer by Shibboleth
If you have 30 semester credits when you join, you get 1 automatic promotion. If you have 60 semester credits, you get two automatic promotions.

This is only good for promotion from E-1 to E-2 to E-3.

As such, your pay would change considerably just for what you’ve already done.

The Military life is filled with adventure as well as sacrifice. Just how much sacrifice depends on where in the world you are, and what kinds of duties are expected of you. Are you waiting on a deployment as you read this article? If you are, chances are you are thinking about worst-case scenarios, again. Is your military insurance plan up to scratch? Can you say without a doubt that your family will be financially comfortable in the case of your death?

Read on for some tips about finding the right insurance to fit your needs and lifestyle…

The impact of the military lifestyle on the family isn’t often talked about. Saying goodbye to dad (or mom) can be devastating; mostly because you can never be 100% sure your loved one will return in one piece. There’s no doubt about it, military spouses are a rare breed who sit by and watch their loved ones complete their duties, all the while hoping that they will come home to them when deployment is done. And it’s not just death you need to worry about; permanent disabilities can impede your ability to earn a living for your family too.

It’s precisely because of the dangerous nature of army life that you need to look closely at your current insurance policies and be 100% certain that they will take care of your family’s needs in your absence. Depending on where in the world you are, your army has most probably given you some guidance on military insurance already. In many instances, there is official military life insurance, but after scrutinizing the benefits of these policies, are you able to say without a doubt that your family will be financially comfortable in the case of your death?

There are so many areas of military life that call for insurance. Military kit insurance is often overlooked, but taking care of the expensive kit that comes with the job is just another thing to worry about for most soldiers. Military kit insurance often comes with the job. But have you really scrutinized the benefits (or lack thereof)? Military kit insurance is easy to overlook, but once you are issued with military kit, it’s completely your responsibility! This could see you responsible for thousands of dollars worth of equipment. No easy task on the modest military paycheck! Luckily, Military kit insurance is another arena in which insurance companies are starting to take an interest.

Insurance companies in general are starting to devise specialized packages for military personnel. Great news for soldiers relying on the standard military insurance packages. Many of the country’s leading insurance companies are coming up with specially tailored packages for soldiers. Abacus is just one of the many insurance companies devising special insurance packages for military personnel. After all, who needs life insurance more than soldiers who put themselves into death defying situations daily?

You are in a dangerous line of work, and your insurance choices should reflect that. You, as a soldier, are making your country proud of you daily. Make your family proud by making some sound insurance choices. Retire your abacus and see an insurance consultant for a more comprehensive view of the cover you need.

There are so many companies offering Kit, Personal Accident and other forms of insurance to HM Forces personnel that it can become very confusing. The aim of this short piece is to offer some tips and advice on ensuring that you get the very best cover – for the very best price.

The upper of army boots will be of complete leather, or of a combination of leather and nylon. Nylon is mainly used in jungle boots. Mesh is not generally used for the upper because no material that is not flame resistant is recommended for the making of the upper of army boots. Because of that, soldiers are not allowed to wear certain types of desert boots even if they are otherwise comfortable.

Though most types of army boots are laced ones, there are exceptions like tanker boots where leather straps are used for fastening. However, Velcro inserts are not used in army boots. Likewise, plastic cleats and metal cleats on the soles are not allowed for soldiers use. So, even where a pair of boots is otherwise comfort wear and suitable for any specific terrain, it is not used as army boots if it has got cleats of either plastic or metal.

Two types of army boots, namely army combat boots or ACB for hot season, and ACB for temperate conditions are a must for soldiers. Though army issues boots to its soldiers, there are also many models of commercial off the shelf boots that satisfy the regulations of army boots. Soldiers are allowed to use any of these according to their aesthetic preferences.

While the army lays down certain restrictions on the type of boots soldiers can use, civilians have no restrictions on wearing army boots. Since the army has specialized boots for use in mountains, desert, swamps etc. these come in very handy for civilians who have to move about in such rough terrains either as part of their adventurous hobbies or as part of their duties. Army boots are also fashionable wear among many ordinary people and some special subculture groups.

Major Scott MacLeod, Region Leader of the Texas Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Command, planned to watch NASA’s first space shuttle launch since he and his soldiers led clean up and recovery efforts surrounding the Space Shuttle Columbia tragedy that affected communities throughout Texas in February 2003.

Last week, Captain Norberto Flores and his 300 Texas Army National Guard troops from the 1836th Transportation Company returned from a 16-month deployment in Iraq where they logged more than 2.5 million miles during their 233 missions.

“If there ever was a time where the Army National Guard’s importance was evident, this is it.” Lt. Col. Tracy Norris, Commander of the Texas Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Command said.

Today, more than 4,500 Texas Army National Guardsman are serving beside other servicemen and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. And like its Florida component who assisted when Hurricane Dennis struck land this week, Texas Army National Guard soldiers are first to respond when asked by Governer Rick Perry to aid in any emergencies and natural disasters within Texas.

“Our recruiters are soldiers who serve side by side with the honorable men and women that they enlist,” Lt. Col. Norris said. “In contrast to current media reports, our retention rates tell us that we are accomplishing the difficult task of meeting recruitment goals during a time of war.”

The Texas Army National Guard is currently at 100.3% of its end strength mission for this year. In June, Texas Army National Guard recruiters had their best month this year exceeding National Guard headquarters goals by enlisting more than 320 soldiers.

The Texas Army National Guard has approximately 190 recruiters in the state of Texas compared to the more than 1,000 that the regular Army employs in Texas.

On May 20, Texas Army National Guard recruiters were available to the media on the day when Army recruiters were required to stand down for nation-wide ethical training.

“Yes this is a challenging time for the Army National Guard, but we are driving forward with a firm resolve and confidence in the branch that we serve,” Lt. Col. Norris said.

Question by oibcountryboy: Where can I find laws governing military personnel and automobile insurance in NC?
My son who is in the military, insurance was cancelled inNC. But his car is registered in NC. He is stationed in Kansas, and has his car with him there. The Insurance company said that while he was stationed there he would have to move his insurance there. If it is still registered here and pays taxes on it here then why does he have to insure it there.

Best answer:

Answer by cwido25
Because the insurance laws in KS differ from those in NC. NC requires coverages not required in KS, and vice versa. Any vehicle operated in KS more than 6 months out of the year is subject to it’s financial responsibilty laws, no exception for people in the military. Likewise, the rates in NC are based on risk in NC, whereas the risk in KS is completely different, as such so are the rates. It does NOT matter where the cars registered- the car is in KS, and is exposed to the risk present in KS. In my experience, it should be cheaper to insure there anyways- so why fight it?

Many people upon reading that there exists specialized military insurance often wonder what the need for specialized military insurance is. Such people often have a number of valid questions that need to be adequately addressed for them to clearly see the need for specialized military insurance.

One of the commonest questions regarding the need for specialized military insurance is why one needs to take it in the first place, as in, why take up military insurance when the state is known to give generous benefit to veterans, who put their very lives at risk in defense of the state. But a closer look at the figures, especially for the last few years shows that in spite of the best efforts on the state’s part, direct financial help from the state to veterans has been steadily falling, and many countries are increasingly advising servicemen and officers to make some preparations – like taking up insurance cover while still in military service – to supplement what they get from the state, especially should a misfortune befall them in the line of duty. Therefore with falling state help to veterans, personal safety nets like taking up insurance cover become an absolute necessity to every responsible military serviceman or officer to supplement whatever they get from the state and to ensure a better life after their military service.

Having established the need for insurance cover for people serving in the military, many people are still left with a question as to the need for specialized military insurance products, like when they hear about military life insurance for example. The question here is, why go for such specialized military life insurance – why won’t ordinary life insurance cover do? But a closer look at the risks involved in military service more than vindicates the need for specialized military insurance products – like the aforementioned military life insurance. As it were, many ordinary insurance companies would hesitate to provide life insurance cover en masse to people serving in the military because of the risk such a venture would involve, and those who agree to do so would provide such cover at extremely high premium to compensate themselves for taking on higher risks. It is especially due to this factor that specialized military insurance providers like Abacus have arisen and grown over the years. Such insurance companies (like Abacus) specialize in offering military insurance products, and do so at reasonable premiums that are generally affordable to all servicemen.

Military life comes with a number of unique facets – which would leave an ordinary insurer who is not conversant with the workings of military insurance bewildered and unsure of how to develop products around them. Many people outside the military establishment are, for example, not aware that a military serviceman or officer is responsible for the military kit they are issued with upon joining the military. This means that should an officer lose their kit – which tends to be quite expensive by the way – they would have to finance its replacement out of their pocket, an idea which is quite alien to people outside the military. It is nonetheless with such understanding that one sees the need for specialized military insurance products, like Military kit insurance. A product like military kit insurance would give the officer or serviceman the peace of mind which comes from knowing that they would not have to go through financial difficult to replace their military kit should it get lost or damaged in one way or another. Ordinary insurance companies without an insider understanding of how the military works would obviously have difficulties providing such cover, which is where companies offering specialized military insurance cover like Abacus come in. Abacus, for example, offers a well structured military kit insurance which, for small monthly premiums, offers the military servicemen and officers the peace of mind of knowing that they are financially covered in the (quite likely) event of them losing their military kit.

Question by Too shy: Does the father of a child have to get a blood test to get military insurance?
My fiance’s Mom keeps telling him to get a blood test, so now he says he has to get one to cover his child under military insurance. The baby hasn’t been born yet.
And he is also preparing to enlist in the marines.

Best answer:

Answer by hayesbrat
no no blood test is needed. when the baby is born he just has to go in and show what they need to see to get the baby covered. he does not need a blood test tho.

With the holidays approaching, many American service members will not be coming home. One military family, with a loved one overseas, speaks about the price they’re paying.

Question by critter: What is the best way to thank our military personnel & families?
I’d like to mainly hear from the military & families. I’m not talking about whether or not we agree with any specific military objective from the administration, but rather how to thank these servicepeople & families who are making huge sacrifices for us.

Best answer:

Answer by Realist
Contact the families who have lost a son, father, mother, sister and do a fund raiser for them. I’m sure now those families are financially hurting since they lost an income.

Question by Chris BeVier: Will military insurance pay for the birth of a baby if the parents are not married?
I have a friend that is about to have a baby. She has no insurance and currently has one child. The father is a deadbeat, but he is in the National guard. She keeps telling me that because they are not married she cannot receive his insurance for the birthing process. Is this true? Also the military should cover the insurance of the one son and the child on the way correct? Is there any other assistance I should suggest to her?

Best answer:

Answer by J M
Yes. If he is not married to her, she would have to take him to court to prove he is the father.

If she is smart, she will pursue legal action against him. He is a deadbeat, and that is the problem with having a baby with someone who is not married to you. He can take off whenever he wants and unless she sues him and proves paternity, she will get nothing.

Even if she proves paternity, it will be hard to get anything from him.
